The Altadena
Community Fund

The Altadena Community Fund .

The Altadena Community Fund was originally founded to foster resilience, recovery, and renewal in the Altadena community and beyond. Established to provide critical support for those impacted by the devastating 2025 wildfires in the region, our mission extends to advancing the long-term economic, cultural, and environmental revitalization of Altadena and the greater Los Angeles County community. This mission reflects our commitment to equitable and inclusive revitalization, fostering partnerships that inspire hope, rebuilding lives, and preserving the unique character of Altadena for generations to come.

Founded in January 2025 as a fiscally sponsored project of the Edward Charles Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, through individual donations and our The Day After Tomorrow event we raised tax-deductible contributions to support recovery efforts, empower community-led redevelopment, and ensure enduring support for the well-being and prosperity of all who call this region home.

In November 2025, The Altadena Community Fund granted $298,814 in contributions raised to Altadena Builds Back Foundation.

Altadena Builds Back Foundation .

The mission of The Altadena Builds Back Foundation is to help lead and fund Altadena’s community-centered recovery, ensuring a just, equitable rebuilding process that prioritizes housing and those most affected by the Eaton Fire. Our community’s collective generosity and resilience will ensure that those affected by the fire who want to rebuild and remain can do so and Altadena will emerge even stronger and more interconnected.

The Altadena Builds Back Foundation helps residents displaced by the Eaton Fire to rebuild and recover. Its goal is to preserve the vibrant diversity of Altadena by making sure residents can continue to live in their community and by keeping the community’s housing affordable for homeowners and renters. The Altadena Builds Back Foundation is based out of the Pasadena Community Foundation, which has served community members of the Greater Pasadena area for more than 70 years, and led by a board and staff with deep roots in Altadena, many of whom were personally affected by the fire.

Since its founding in April 2025, the Altadena Builds Back Foundation has granted $6.4 million to rebuild dozens of homes, increase access to affordable rental housing, and provide rebuilding resources to Altadena residents affected by the Eaton Fire. This is just the beginning — more grants are on the horizon to help our community heal and rebuild.
